Healthy Nuts

Nuts were seldom eaten years ago because of their high fat content and high calories.  We had no idea of the true health benefits that lay inside these wonderfully delicious snacks.  Fats found in nuts are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated, which are considered great fats, helping fight heart disease and reduce levels of LDL the bad cholestrol.  

We do not recommend eating jars of peanut butter with added ingredients such as hydrogenated oil.  Try to purchase nuts already refrigerated, this will keep them fresh and prevents them from going rancid.  It is essential to soak nuts overnight in distilled water to eliminate natural enzyme inhibitors.  Once nuts are soaked, pour off the water, rinse a few times and add purified water  to make a delicious smoothie in your blender. Soaked nuts keep for 2 to 3 days if kept refigerated. What a great source of protein! and much easier digested when you juice them!
