Julie Bacon, RYT-500, has been practicing yoga since 1999 and teaching since 2010.
A former ballet dancer, she was drawn to yoga because of its holistic approach to strengthening and stretching as well as its power to soothe and restore the body, mind and spirit.
Julie received her 500 hour certification from Cyndi Lee of OM Yoga in New York City and 200-hour certification from Betsy Kase at Yoga Haven in Tuckahoe, New York. She has also studied yoga anatomy with Leslie Kaminoff at The Breathing Project, Core Strength Vinyasa with Saide Nardini and Restorative Yoga with Cyndi Lee and Karen Safire.
Julie's classes are creative, well structured and thoughtful. She embraces OM Yoga's style of linking self-inquiry with imaginative sequences. She emphasize alignment, breath-awareness and making physical and emotional connections. When appropriate, she breaks down the mechanics of various asana so that students may safely explore their practice with confidence. She is constantly inspired by the potential to cultivate balance and well-being through yoga, and is always striving to find ways to facilitate the development of each practitioner's unique experience.
